Racket Frame And String-Bed Faults

Frames are the most common warranty claim we see, and the most commonly misdiagnosed. The distinction that matters is impact versus fatigue.

Fatigue cracks — covered

A fatigue crack runs along the frame, usually at the throat or the bottom of the hoop, and appears without a specific incident. It is a manufacturing fault and we replace the frame.

Impact damage — not covered

Impact damage is localised: crushed grommets, a flat spot, paint driven inward. It comes from contact with a wall, a floor or another racket.

Frame damage from a ball or shuttle strike is not possible at recreational speeds. If the damage is at the frame edge, it met something solid.

Strings

Strings are consumable and are never covered by warranty. As a rule of thumb, restring as many times per year as you play per week. A broken string within days of purchase is normal if the tension is high — natural gut at 26 kg has a short life by design.

What to send us

  1. A photograph of the whole racket, both faces.
  2. A close-up of the fault with something for scale.
  3. Your order number, or the serial number inside the shaft.
